College Counseling Update for the Week of September 15^th

College Visits

To attend a college visit, please come get a pass from one of the college counselors. You will need to give the pass to your teacher at least one day before the visit in order to be excused. Even if you sign up for the visit on Family Connection, you still need to get a pass.

·         Tuesday, September 16^th

o   Denison University- 10:00 a.m.

o   College of Charleston- 10:30 a.m.

·         Thursday, September 18^th

o   Savannah College of Art and Design- 8:15 a.m.

o   University of San Diego- 9:30 a.m.

·         Friday, September 19^th  

o   Bridgewater College- 10:00 a.m.

o   Virginia Commonwealth University- 11:00 a.m.

Common Application HELP!- Friday, September 19^th at lunch

The college counselors will be in the Founders computer lab during lunch to help with any questions about filling out the Common App, matching your Common App, or anything else! That's also a good time to come by if you would like to log into your College Board or ACT account and make sure you have sent your scores and/or added schools to your fall registrations for your early schools. We can also answer any questions about non- Common App applications.

 Things you can do in Naviance

·  Review the college visit list (new colleges are added daily!)

·  Keep track of your  college list

·  Review scattergrams and the Visi admissions history at the schools on your list

·  Review scholarship data

Review all the information we have about local information sessions, open houses, and special campus visit programs

Standardized Testing Dates and Deadlines

·         October 12 SAT and Subject Tests- Registration Deadline is September 12

·         October 25 ACT- Registration Deadline is September 19

·         November 8 SAT and Subject Tests- Registration Deadline is October 9

·         December 6 SAT and Subject Tests- Registration Deadline is November 6

·         December 13 ACT- Registration Deadline is November 7

Remember to list Visitation’s school code, 090080, when you register for the SAT and ACT
